Thinking back to the Chanel Fall 2009 runway show, I can’t really recall any of the details other than the colors of the models’ nails. Their bright jade green fingertips took my breath away and I knew it would be the next must-have nail polish color. Fast forward to present day and I’m still trying to find a suitable duplicate of the sold-out shade, so I have to say my heart raced more than a little when I encountered this tempting promotion from Eyeko Makeup. I’m not really a fan of traditional up-dos. You know, the ones with the spiral curls that are pinned neatly together and sprayed with enough hairspray to destroy the ozone. I was having a conversation a few weeks ago with a friend about our TV-watching habits. While he’s watching crime dramas and more serious fare, I’ve been solely dedicated to fashion favorite “Project Runway” (of course!) and musical hit “Glee.” I’ve always been a sucker for musicals and musicals plus high school makes it even better. Rachel’s preppy style with schoolboy blazers and cable-knit sweaters exemplify her character’s perfectionism. On the other side, Miss “diva-in-training” Mercedes always wears bright colors and has plenty of bling too. Lastly, Sue may be a tough cookie and wears those Adidas tracksuits like they’re going out of style, but her unapologetic attitude is a reminder that we should always be confident in ourselves.
