MICHAEL CARRIER, CEO

Michael Carrier has been a successful Web entrepreneur since 1995, having founded several flourishing Internet companies before the birth of STYLEHIVE, his latest creation, founded in 2006. Carrier couldn’t help but notice the shopping habits of his wife Cecilia and her friends—and how their social interactions and referrals played such a large role in where and what they bought.

Michael Carrier is a graduate of Yale (1989), and worked briefly on Wall Street before heading for the West Coast in 1994.  After witnessing the early days of online commerce and the release of the first web browsers, Carrier embarked upon his thriving career on the Internet. He currently lives in Marin County with Cecilia and his two sons, and is an avid sailor on the San Francisco Bay when he is not on “The Hive” discovering the latest hot items and checking out what the trendiest of trendsetters are up to!

Stephanie Garcia has logged more than eighteen years as a retail executive for brands like Saks Fifth Avenue, Eddie Bauer, Williams-Sonoma, Old Navy and Restoration Hardware among others.  At Restoration Hardware, Stephanie grew the company’s online business 500% in five years! Her specialty—creating new and emerging concepts for high-growth business and making brands explode in the marketplace.

At Stylehive, Stephanie Garcia’s main job is how to help retailers interact with their customers in a new way, and how to blend social life and marketing into a winning combination. Kensler, a respected pop culture author, also appears on television, radio and in print media as a an entertaining Celebrity Connoisseur, Style Expert and Trend Spotter.

PATRICIA HANDSCHIEGEL, West Coast Bureau Chief

Patricia Handschiegel is the West Coast Bureau Chief for Stylehive and the founder of recently acquired Stylehive sister site StyleDiary, covering fashion and entertainment. A former stylist and ghost writer for a national fashion television and print media journalist, an expert internet shopper, and style insider, Handshciegel is also a recognized entrepreneur in Silcon Valley.
