Celeb Poll - Who Rocked The NYFW Front Row?

New York Fashion Week is well under way and us mere mortals and celebs alike are excited to see what our favorite design houses are offering for the Fall/Winter 2011 season!

And while most of us must be content with the latest updates from our favorite sites and blogs, celebs have the luxury to sit front-row right where the action is! But sitting front-row means you need to be suited and booted in your most show-stopping attire!

Leighton Meester and Fergie both showed their support at the Marc by Marc Jacobs show in a printed dress plus waist cincher and matching printed blazer and shorts set with leather boots, respectively. Vanessa Hudgens made appearances at multiple shows but we’re loving the satin blazer and bright pop colors she chose for Marc Jacobs.

Kristen Dunst was a vision in a sweet frothy frock at the Rodarte show, while Emma Roberts made a splash with her bright blue dress at the Michael Kors show.

But there can only be one best-dressed front-row fashionista! Who gets your vote? Take the poll below! Then check back next week when we show you how to get the look for yourself!

Stylelist Breaks It Down!

Two of my sisters live in L.A. One is about to be 40. The other is just about turning 30. Neither are married with kids and both are insisting on going out for Halloween. Guess who’s going as the sexy kitten and who is going as the “night sky” (which I correctly predicted would involve a black Virgin Atlantic sleep suit with cotton balls attached)?

Oh, Halloween, that time of year when parties are packed with women in sexy nurse outfits offering to take your temperature and the men who ply them with drinks, hoping there’s a chance in hell that this will actually happen.

I’m not sure when a holiday rooted in the tradition of summoning spirits turned into a reason to get your boobs out. (Perhaps we could thank that early ‘80s seductress Elvira for kicking off the trend.)

Get The Winning Look From Our ‘Think Pink!’ Celeb Poll!

It’s Breast Cancer Awareness month and celebs and us mere mortals alike are doing what we can to raise awareness and funds for research. With a number of Breast Cancer Awareness events popping up all over the place, we’re also seeing many of our fave celebs showing up in pink ensembles.

Last week we asked you to tell us who you thought looked the best in their pink-for-a-cause outfit and the resounding winner was Desperate Housewives star, Marcia Cross. While Busy Philipps looked pretty in a sparkly pink mini and Jennifer Garner really showed her support with some hot pink pieces, Marcia Cross managed to look sophisticated and youthful in her pink get-up.

A simple sheath in a shocking pink hue was equal parts classic and modern, while delicate metallic sandals played up her pretty dress without overpowering. A simple and sleek bangle to mirror her shoes also helped pull the look together while still allowing the bright hue of her dress to take center-stage.

Click on the slideshow to see how to get this look for less than designer prices, as well as some other super stylish pieces that help the cause!

A Tribute to Alexander McQueen

Alexander Lee McQueen
17 March 1969 – 11 February 2010

The fashion world was shocked and saddened when the news broke last February of legendary designer, Alexander McQueen‘s death. The announcement put a pall on fashionistas and artists everywhere to hear of such a loss just days before London Fashion Week. McQueen, whose career was marked with rebellion and innovation, was much beloved by those in-the-know in fashion. British Vogue editor, Alexandra Shulman, said: “He was the most brilliant designer of his generation and his influence can be seen in the way that women dressed over the last 15 years.” In his too-short life, Alexander McQueen, or “Lee” as he was known to friends, was awarded the British Designer of the Year Award four times and was embraced by scores of celebrities and fans including the late iconic Isabella Blow, Sandra Bullock, Sarah Jessica Parker, Anna Wintour, Daphne Guinness, Rihanna and Lady Gaga.

In a fitting tribute, The British Fashion Council organized a memorial service at St. Paul’s Cathedral on Monday morning, September 20, for his friends. May he rest in peace.

Oxford Makes ‘LBD’ Official!

Oxford Dictionary, the purveyor of the English language (seemingly) has been adding new words to the English language as we, the public, make them more and more popular. Both ‘Bling Bling’ and Beyonce’s only regrettable claim to fame, ‘Bootylicious’ have made the cut. As has ‘Chillax’ and, due to the Facebook epidemic, ‘De-friend’ (which is the worst diss ever!). Now, fashion gets to coin a term and it’s a classic. The long-used acronym for the go-to Little Black Dress, or ’LBD‘ for the word and style savvy, has officially been recognized by the Oxford English Dictionary and as a tribute to this momentous occasion, we’ve decided to showcase our favorite LBD’s! Click on the slideshow to see our affordable and wearable choices ranging from classically sophisticated to edgy chic, so you can nab yourself an LBD and join in on this fashionable addition to the dictionary! Like you really needed an excuse to go shopping ...

Which Celeb Was A Style Hit (Or Miss) At FNO?

The second annual Fashion’s Night Out has come and gone and celebs and designers flocked to their favorite stores and boutiques to mingle with the rest of us and show of their style chops! And they didn’t disappoint. With so many designers participating in this huge fashion event, anything goes when it comes to showing up in style, as long as it looked good. We’ve picked three celebs known for their impeccable tastes in clothing and for always wearing something a little unexpected. Diane Kruger donned an eye-catching red sheath dress with a rumpled petal detailing at the neck line, mixing sophisticated star with sexy siren. Leighton Meester’s first ensemble of the night was a cute mini with an ethereal print. A more covered neckline and long sleeves balanced out the high hem, giving her a vibe of sensual innocence. Rachel Bilson is known for her trendy outfits and at FNO, she mixed bright colors and mixed patterns on a mini with a funky silhouette. The look was definitely youthful and unique, but we’re on the fence about how much we really liked it. What do you think? Which starlet had the best look for this year’s Fashion Night Out? Take our poll below!

And check back on Tuesday for when we announce the poll winner and show you how to get her look!

Who Let Their Hair Down Best At The New York ‘Eat, Pray, Love’ Premiere?

Just a little bit ago, big name stars from the movie, “Eat, Pray, Love”, showed up to the New York movie premier and every single one looked their red-carpet best! Slinky gowns, sophisticated minis and sparkling jewels were abundant, but the most noticeable thing about this movie premiers red-carpet fashion? Everyone looked perfectly coiffed with shining hair and natural waves. Who do you think let their hair down the best at the New York movie premier of “Eat, Pray, Love”? Was it star of the show, Julia Roberts, who turned up in sleek shining tresses, or acting veteran Phylicia Rashad and her shoulder length swirls?
