Hello Hivers! I've relocated to NYC, working for Lela Rose, and am busy discovering new up-and-coming designers, furthering my obsession with sky high heels, moroccan home decor, Eugina Kim hats, sweater coats, equestrian accessories, and anything with buckles!

The time of year when you get to cash in on all your good fashion karma. And where better to do it than at Lela Rose, the queen of chic?  Today is the final day of her sample sale and everything’s marked 50-70% off.  Sift through cashmere sweaters, llama-wool winter coats, organza trapeze tops, and whimsical cocktail dresses so fabulous, you’ll want to throw a party just for an excuse…

StyleIcon: Chloe Sevigny Is Not Afraid to Be on Anyone’s Worst-Dressed List

Chloe Sevigny‘s style is innate, there’s nothing contrived or forced about her looks, which is refreshing in today’s stylist-run-amuck scene. Chloe carries a vintage charm about her, but keeps looks young by adding something usexpected, like orange lipstick or wild sunglasses. Chloe’s style is very classic (she loves YSL, Balenciaga, Proenza Schouler) but she also likes the fashion indies, like Imitation of Christ and vintage Thierry Mugler. And guess who was wearing high-waisted jeans before anyone thought they had a chance at a comeback? She’s not afraid to take a chance and she’s not afraid of the worst-dressed list, which makes her a style star in my eyes.

StyleIcon: Margherita Missoni, An Icon In The Making

Margherita Missoni is a celebutante on the rise!  With a famous name, the classic looks of a modern-day Ali MacGraw, and a closet worthy of the best dressed list, she’s true style icon material. Margherita loves the brightly colored prints of her namesake, as well as designs by her dear friend Zac Posen. Her fashion favorites are long, embellished gowns, bright, colorful dresses, circle skirts, little shifts, and all-over prints. Look and learn my pretties!

StyleIcon: Supermodel-To-Be Agyness Deyn

You may recognize her face from the current Georgio Armani and Burberry campaigns. She also graced nearly every top designer’s runway this season. She’s model-on-the-rise Agyness Deyn, and she’s quickly becoming a style icon on and off the runways. Agyness’s style is a combination of downtown edge, English rocker, and relaxed bohemian. She spends her time between shows in oversized rocker tee’s, leggings, and long necklaces.

StyleIcon: Annie Hall’s Accessible Androgyny

Diane Keaton‘s character Annie Hall, from the eponymous movie, master of the boy-girl look, has been an inspiration to countless designers and celebrities (think Kate Moss) over the years. So her borrowed-from-the-boys approach to dressing is as timeless as it is chic. Tailored vests, wide-legged pants and the classic button-down shirt look effortless, and can be dressed up with accessories, like a sophisticated hat, a striped scarf, or trendy oxfords. This look is best when you mix in one feminine element, like a tweed mini skirt, or a billowy white shirt to balance out the masculine pieces.

StyleIcon: Audrey Hepburn’s Simple Staples

Audrey Hepburn, most famous for putting a little black dress in everyone’s closet, is the quintessential style setter. Never a follower of trends or fads, Hepburn wore what suited her best, creating a timeless look that holds up to this day.

Hepburn did it with an understated glamor accentuated by clean lines and a slim physique. Her style was all about keeping it simple, featuring an everyday wardrobe stocked with ballet flats, LBD’s, skinny pants, and men’s dress shirts.

So the next time you are trying to decide between that Tucker smocked collar shirt or which Tory Burch flats to wear, just ask yourself “What Would Audrey Do?”

TrendSlides: Equestrian Accessories and Statement-Making Hats

This season fashion is becoming more utilitarian, and there’s no better way to jump on the trend than with equestrian-inspired accessories. Horseshoes, buckles, straps, and stir-up detailing mixes perfectly with this season’s warm, buttery leather bags, belts, and shoes.  Nothing looks better with tall flat equestrian boots than dark wash skinny jeans paired with slouchy sweaters or a fitted blazer. But there’s also a new contender this season on the accessories scene - the hat! No, I’m not talking about the hats we’ve worn for the last few years; the ones that are a wardrobe…

StyleVid: Steal Jennifer Lopez’s “Do It Well” Style

As famous for her envy-inspiring looks as she is for her singing and acting careers, Jennifer Lopez is one hot mama. The queen of reinvention, La Lopez’s latest transformation is sexier than ever. No longer Jenny-From-The-Block, J.Lo oozes classy sex appeal in each of her looks. I couldn’t get enough of her over-the-top sexy trench that brought a drama all its own to the video. So watch “Do It Well,” pick the look you like best, and find out how to steal three of her fierce styles!

StyleVid: Steal Fergie’s Fashions From Her New Video, “Clumsy”

Anyone who can fit seven different outfit changes into one video, and look stunning in all of them, is working hard. Our favorite Fergalicious Pea has hit her fashion peak with her latest video, “Clumsy”Fergie sizzles as she transitions from an innocent 50’s style pink dress, to the bad girl that we all know, with smokey eyes, a killer jacket, and impossibly high heels.  Watch the video, pick the look you like best, and find out how to steal three of Fergie’s not-soClumsy-at-all styles.

StyleSlides: Buckle Up Kids, The Fall Bags Are Here!

From clutches and totes to overnighters and messengers, the “changing of the bags” every fall is as natural as the falling of the leaves. Burnt umber and mahogany toned leather can warm up any look, and brass hardware gives bags just the right amount of bling.  Plaids and herringbones always look great in the fall and Cole Haan keeps it fresh by mixing them with patent leather. White totes and clutches are a surprising new trend this fall, including my latest obsession, the JALDA Anaconda Amalfi Clutch!  But my three favorite trends…

HiveSlides: Heatherette Goes Hee Haw!

The fashion savvy flocked to Heatherette‘s show yesterday at LA Fashion Week to see what kind of madness would make it’s way down the catwalk.  The show was titled “Route 66: California or Bust,” and featured bits of Americana, from red, white, and blue sequins to gingham and plaid garden dresses.  The clothes evoked a sexed up sense of nostalgia, showcasing their signature silhouettes: multi-tiered mini dresses, gowns embellished with everything from lace, to mesh, and even a few beach balls! StyleAdvice: How to Vamp Up Your Look Without Looking Like a Vampire

With Halloween right around the corner, what better time to vamp up your look? Here are my tips for bewitching eyes, lips and nails without looking like Elvira (remember her?). Smokey Eyes When you’re going bold, it’s all about the eyes. Eyeshadow sets take the guesswork out of creating the perfect shade combinations.  Start with a dark liner and then smudge outward, so you don’t have a stark line. To pump up your eyelashes, falsies are always great.  And don’t let them intimidate you… the key is to find ones that fit your face. …

HiveSlides: Kevan Hall Rules L.A. Fashion Week

LA Fashion Week continues to gain momentum in 2007, showcasing the best that the West has to offer. But one designer, Kevan Hall, has stood out for his clean lines, gorgeous prints, and red carpet-worthy gowns. Kevan Hall took us on an African Safari this season, looking to his roots, which he described as everything from “Dinka, Maasai, and Zulu tribes to the antelopes and zebras”.  He presented Serengeti prints and intricate beading designed by African artisans, and even incorporated mud cloth and painted twill. This Hollywood fashion favorite is known for his eveningwear,…

StreetStyle: Mixing Name Brands With Knockoffs

I was just hanging out at the Henri Bendel 100th Anniversary Party last week, minding my own business, when fashionista Cara Araneta turned my head.  A great lesson in how to mix high and low fashion, Cara was wearing a belted Acne dress (you may be more familiar with Acne jeans), a necklace she got in a little boutique in Paris, and H&M shoes.  Paired with a chic bag and an envy-inspiring haircut, she was certainly a cut above the rest! What’s your favorite high-low outfit in your closet? Tell us in Comments!
