Sunny San Francisco days call for lazy mornings, leisurely walks, and long brunches, so when the weekend finally rolls around, head over to Foreign Cinema. Tucked away in SF’s lively Mission district, the restaurant is known for the foreign and independent films shown in the outdoor courtyard, during which guests can dine and drink to their hearts’, stomachs’, and minds’ content, though brunch is equally delectable. I wandered down to the “industrial-chic” establishment a few Saturday mornings ago to see for myself, and let’s just say my go-to brunch place across from my apartment has some serious, high-ceilinged and white tableclothed competition. Click SEE SLIDESHOW for a taste of Foreign Cinema, a true serving of San Francisco City Style!

The senior prom is always a memorable experience, but for Marche Taylor, “memorable” isn’t such a good thing. The Madison High senior was refused admittance into her prom after school officials decided her revealing attire violated school dress codes. Her friends even tried to wrap the more modest part of her dress around her to make it more appropriate, but she still was not allowed to enter the ballroom. She demanded her money back, and at one point, police were called and the teen was escorted out with some shiny new jewelry: a pair of handcuffs. At least she accessorized! Where else can you walk in empty-handed and then emerge with a three-drawer dresser and a package of heat-and-eat Swedish meatballs? Nowhere. Furniture from IKEA is like a pair of Levi’s.. everyone has one somewhere. But at the same time, their stuff can sometimes be like a logo-drenched handbag - virtually screaming IKEA, no matter what you pair it with in your home. But not ALL of their stuff! Click SEE SLIDESHOW for 10 IKEA pieces that don’t look like they fell off a Volvo.

Raise your hand if you’ve been using the same ordinary silver corkscrew/souvenir shop keychain bottle opener for longer than you can remember… ahh, I love being right. The barware you use is just as crucial, if not more crucial than the actual drinks themselves, so it’s definitely time to update these oh-so-necessary gadgets. I’ve come up with ten corkscrews and bottle openers that are reason enough to throw a party (like you really need an excuse), and you can bet these ones won’t get lost in that cluttered kitchen drawer. Click SEE SLIDESHOW for my ten favorite party starters!
Is it just me, or is there a bit of a color war brewing between this season’s hot hues? Mere minutes after declaring yellow the top color trend, Women’s Wear Daily arrives on my desk claiming orange is the new shade to crave. Then black and white and cobalt catch up and our worlds are thrown into a colorful chaos, but rest assured, peace has finally been restored in purse-land, because Bagtrends has named the top three winners in the battle of the bags. Click on over to Bagtrends now and see which colors came out on top.
The gladiator sandal has been making its way in and out of the style ring for years now, but the secret to its strength is the way it reinvents itself each time. What started out as a simple flat shoe has evolved into countless heels, wedges, and edgier versions (like Mary-Kate’s over-the-top Chanel sandals), but the trend du jour for this super trend is all about the blues, from baby shades to hues as deep as the Mediterranean. It’s the perfect way to tone down the sexy strapped style while remaining right on trend. Click on over to People StyleWatch for tons of ways to score this look! Photo credit: People.com
