Cannes Film Festival Jury Member and museworthy style icon Natalie Portman could roll out of bed still be the most striking girl in a hundred mile radius. When she gets decked out in designer gowns and gorgeous diamonds, well she transforms into pure perfection! At the jury photo call for the 61st Annual Cannes Film Festival, Natalie dazzled in three layered Tiffany & Co. Diamond necklaces - the Diamond Flower Link Necklace ($47,500), Diamond Cobblestone Pendant ($7,800), and Circlet Diamond Pendant ($2,275). And that was just the tip of the iceberg. (Get it? So clever am I!) I couldn’t resist tracking down her pieces, and similar styles for the ones that were untrackable. Click READ MORE to get her Cannes look.
Stylehive was out celebrating the 10th Anniversary of Gen Art’s Styles International Design Competition at the Sunglass Hut store in Soho, where we caught up with the fabulous host, Gossip Girl star and self-proclaimed “sunglasses fiend” Michelle Trachtenberg. Michelle looked absolutely stunning in her Diane Von Furstenberg dress and was like a kid in a candy store while trying on all the hot new summer shades. When it sunglasses, Michelle told Stylehive, “I do one extreme or the other, I either like really big, really dark, classic square frames or I do aviators. A Jackie O, dark plastic frame is great year round. But it’s fun to switch it up and have an aviator for the summer. And sometimes I’ll do like a Ray-ban Wayfarer, those are my three go-tos.” Click READ MORE for more on the new and improved Sunglass Hut and check out my slideshow for my favorite styles including a pair Ms. Trachtenberg snagged for herself.
Tim Gunn, the hardest-working man in the style biz (he’s got two Bravo series under his belt, logs overtime hours to mentor his protégés, and is Chief Creative Officer of Liz Claiborne), shows no signs of slowing down. With season two of Tim Gunn’s Guide to Style coming soon, and Project Runway season five gearing up for production this summer, Gunn told Stylehive that he’s “fully expecting” fellow judge Nina Garcia back on Runway… but he has some concerns about the fate of oh-so-fierce Christian Siriano! Eva Mendes bares her boobs, sucks her own toes, and strikes both submissive and dominant poses, all in the name of fashion, in the latest issue of Italian Vogue. The pics have set off a firestorm on the Internets, sending traffic through the roof, and some nervous Nellies wondering if Eva has gone off the deep end and ruined her career! At least in this country. In Italy, famous actresses taking it all off and pushing sexual boundaries rarely elicits even a single “Mama mia!”
While you may hate her character with the fire of a thousand fire-breathing dragons, there’s no denying that Georgina Sparks, played by Michelle Trachtenberg, has taken Gossip Girl to a whole new level of awesome-ness. Sure she’s evil incarnate, but she has a killer sense of style sparking the envy of even the greatest Georgina-haters out there. In Monday night’s episode, Georgina hit below the belt by making a play for the nicest nice guy in the world Dan Humphrey. This scene left me with two questions: ‘What is she doing?!” and “What is she wearing?!” Lucky for you, I have the answer to the latter. Click READ MORE to get her look.
It’s a good thing last night’s episode of Gossip Girl was so explosive. Had my heart not still been racing from all the drama they packed into that one little hour- a breakup, a breakdown, a startling revelation, a web of lies - I may have lapsed into a coma during the snoozefest also known as the Hills finale. To match the banality were the equally bland ensembles worn by the cast to the finale party. Lauren wore a black strapless dress (yawn), Whitney wore a slightly funkier version of the dress Lauren was wearing (smaller yawn), and Audrina kept it safe and predictable in a green minidress (major yawn). While we can usually count on Heidi to shock us with her skimpy barely there ensembles, the aspiring singer was just that - barely there. I’m torn as to what was more disappointing, the lacking episode, or the lackluster ensembles.
At the London premiere for the most anticipated movie in the history of the world, Sex and the City (obviously!), star Sarah Jessica Parker made a splash, to say the least, dazzling the crowd with her ultra-fabulous, head-turning, avant-garde style. The pale green chiffon dress by Alexander McQueen was impeccably crafted and looked beyond stunning on the svelte star, the Fred Leighton diamond jewels- including a 1930’s diamond corsage bracelet with over 75 carats, European-cut diamond drop earrings (7.5 carats each!), and a delicate 19th Century diamond cluster ring- were simply out of this world . However, none of this could compare to the larger than life peacock feather hat by Philip Treacy perched atop SJP’S blonde head. Complete with green roses and yellow butterflies, this interesting confection managed to get people talking and leave them speechless at the same time.
Paris Hilton swears that she’s done with high-priced hair extensions, which is why she’s bringing her latest branding effort – Clipin-Go by Paris Hilton – to the masses (or at least those of us who live near a Sally Beauty Supply store). The line of modacrylic hair extensions comes in 10 natural looking shades, which will set you back a mere $79.99. Whether or not you think Paris is a beauty icon, you can’t deny she knows a thing or two about always looking camera-ready. Paris spilled to Stylehive all about her new line, and shared some other get-gorgeous tips. Click READ MORE for our exclusive Q&A with the hair-care heiress.
Anyone can find a cute item and wear it as is straight off the hanger. But a unique sense of style comes from being able to re-interpret an item and take it from basic to innovative. Just look at the ensemble the gorgeous Molly Sims wore to the Sports Museum of America’s Opening Night Gala. The busy actress (she just finished working on three films!) didn’t let a minor thing like a jam-packed schedule stop her from taking the time to come up with a creative ensemble. The gladiator sandal has been making its way in and out of the style ring for years now, but the secret to its strength is the way it reinvents itself each time. What started out as a simple flat shoe has evolved into countless heels, wedges, and edgier versions (like Mary-Kate’s over-the-top Chanel sandals), but the trend du jour for this super trend is all about the blues, from baby shades to hues as deep as the Mediterranean. It’s the perfect way to tone down the sexy strapped style while remaining right on trend. Click on over to People StyleWatch for tons of ways to score this look! Photo credit: People.com

Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise were falling over themselves to compliment Giorgio Armani on his design of Katie’s bright red gown at last night’s Metropolitan Museum Costume Institute Gala. “I love it!” Katie gushed to Stylehive on the event’s red carpet. “It’s so beautiful,” agreed her squinty-eyed, slightly shorter hubby. And Katie’s was just the first of many stunning - and sometimes stupefying! - gowns at the ultimate of ultimate fashion parties. Chaired by Julia Roberts, George Clooney, and Anna Wintour, the fashion fete didn’t come cheap. Tables for the dinner were sold out at $75,000 to $250,000 each! Check out our SLIDESHOW to see what the celebs wore to the dinner that costs as much as a house (well, maybe a weekend cottage) - and what they told Stylehive about their fashion choices!
Fashion doesn’t exist in a vacuum, there are major players working hard to make it happen, all while doing it fabulously. BJ Coleman is one of those players and he is about as fabulous as it gets. As Senior Director of Public Relations for Baby Phat, it is his job to make the brand hot, hot, hot and he has definitely succeeded considering the Baby Phat fashion show is one of the hottest tickets in town during Fashion Week. BJ is Kimora Lee Simmons’ right hand man and you’ve probably seen him on the hit reality show Life in the Fab Lane. This year is Baby Phat’s ten-year anniversary so I thought not only should we celebrate the brand but let’s celebrate BJ, who started his fashion career there when the company was brand spankin’ new. We met over lunch where BJ talked to me about fashion, fun, fabulousness, and Baby Phat. Click READ MORE for all of the Phat details!
