I really love the holidays. All the stores are playing my favorite Christmas songs, coffee shops have special holiday themed drinks, and the overall sentiment of goodwill and cheer is as infectious as H1N1. Unfortunately, my home still looks like it’s summer with linen pillows on my sofa and patio furniture still hanging out in the backyard. So it’s definitely time to have my house catch up with the holiday season. That doesn’t mean I’m covering my home with reindeer and snowmen though! I can’t wait to add a few faux fur throws to cozy up to when the nights get chilly. The holidays are also a time where guests come and go through my front doors so these holiday guest towels would be perfect in my bathroom. Yes, I do a little bit of baking. I’ll even cook at times if I need to. While I’m not claiming to be a domestic goddess by any means, I can at least look the part while preparing for upcoming holiday parties. Recently I made a fantastic purchase in hopes of it inspiring me to become an overnight chef success. Anthropologie’s 3-D Toile Full Apron is a pretty sweet deal! It’s not your grandmother’s “kitchenwear” either. The apron I bought has gorgeous ruffles and ruching; I found myself not wanting to take it off when I was done baking. I wore it this past Thanksgiving, while I whipped up my pumpkin gingerbread trifle. My dessert was a hit, but that didn’t mean I came out of the kitchen unharmed. Thank god the apron was machine washable! Holiday cookie time is upon us, and I plan on wearing it to protect my clothing. If I could get away with it, I’d probably spend most of my hours in bed. We definitely think Posh Spice could pull this one off! Victoria Beckham certainly knows enough about fashion and looking good and we’re pretty sure her modeling agency would be top of the line! Everyone would be dying to be a part of it. Victoria Beckham would be working on this exciting new modeling agency project with her manager Simon Fuller (you may know Simon Fuller as the creator of American Idol. He was also the manager of the Spice Girls). Clearly, Simon knows what he’s doing in the business world and we think Victoria has quite a few business smarts herself. According to a source, “Simon knows that Victoria is very savvy when it comes to fashion. His first foray into fashion was to team up designer Roland Mouret and Victoria, which was a huge success.” We’re sure Simon loves having Victoria on his side and the source says, “Victoria is a key asset to Simon and he wants her to take on a major role.” Simon already owns 50% of London modeling agency Storm Models and wants Victoria to set up something similar in New York. One look at Lime Crime Makeup’s webpage—which looks like a unicorn barfed rainbows and shooting stars all over it—and you can’t help but wonder what sort of happy pills this chick is on. But hey—as long as this unnaturally sunshine-y outlook produces gorgeous sparkly shades to add to my makeup collection, I can dig it! Lime Crime Magic Dust is a line of highly-pigmented loose powder eyeshadow, similar to MAC’s loose pigment (but cheaper!), that comes in 23 different bold, shimmery shades. Dust on lids to wear as shadow, or apply wet for more intense color and use as eyeliner. Despite the tag line, “So bright, it’s illegal,” I don’t think you’ll get arrested for having sparkly shadow, but Lime Crime’s collection is seriously vibrant if you’re looking for bold color!
