Screw the body lotions and Christmas socks — I want some real toys. Nothing excites me more than looking through the ads in the morning paper at what new electronics I can add to my Christmas list. I may never receive any of those wonderful technie wonders, but it’s always cool to see what the new year is able to offer. Like the GPS navigation systems and digital photo frames of years past, this year brings tiny netbooks and print to digital photo scanners to the top of everyone’s must-have radar. Hopefully Santa thinks you’ve been good this year, because with gadgets this cool, no manicure or votive set would make you happy after seeing these impressive devices. By now you might be starting to get sick of seeing studs on just about everything: blazers, bracelets, even last week’s shoe of the week… but somehow, this Treesje Jovi bag seems to have the unique ability to breathe new life to the embellishment. Then again, I think any trend could look way less redundant when it’s part of a bright green bag! Aside from the vibrant color (which would be a great refresher to my otherwise muted winter wardrobe), I love the fact that it’s convertible—wear it as a cross body when you need your hands to carry all those shopping bags, or snap off the strap and you’ve got yourself a rocker-chic clutch. It may not match everything, but it doesn’t hurt to indulge in a healthy pop of color every now and then!
What: the Treesje Jovi Cross Body in Turquoise
Price: $363
Where to Buy: Revolve Clothing

Though we would be extremely excited about Paul McCartney and Morrissey teaming up, we’re still pretty psyched Stella McCartney and Morrissey are teaming up. Especially since they’re teaming up for shoes! Both Stella McCartney and Morrissey are vegetarians, and they’re about to create a line of shoes together that proves their love for animals. They’re in the early stages of a leather-free range of footwear. According to Stella, “I’m working with Morrissey on a line of leather-free shoes which I’m really excited about. We are still in the early stages, but the shoes could be launched next year.” We never really placed Morrissey as a shoe designer, but we think that’s pretty awesome. And we have a feeling the shoes will sell really well because there’s a huge population of people who don’t want leather on their shoes. Not to mention, we’re sure there are tons of Morrissey fans who would love a pair of his shoes. Check out our friends at LimeLife to read more!
I don’t want to brag or anything, but I probably have one of the coolest weekend jobs out there (well, as cool as working on weekends can get!). I work at my friend’s paper goods boutique where I sell unique greeting cards, journals, planners, and calendars by independent and local designers. So I’m always on the lookout for what’s new in the world of paper when I’m not obsessing over fashion. Leave it to Kate Spade, aka Jane-of-all-trades, to create a holiday card set that I immediately want to send to all my friends and family members. Kate Spade read my mind because hope, peace, and warm cookies are probably my favorite aspects of the holidays. Then again, it probably applies for Santa Claus too! So if you’ve been looking for a non-cheesy Hallmark card alternative for the holidays, this is it.
Price: $35 for a set of 10 cards and envelopes

Don’t let a fall downpour rain all over your style. Instead, slip into this season’s top topper: the gray trench. A chicer alternative to the khaki raincoat (too preppy) or the bright yellow slicker (too Dick Tracy), this one by Bamford will transition easily from day to evening. Wear it belted over a pair of wide-leg trousers to the office or throw it over a silk party dress for a night out. If $2,800 is a little over budget (a pretty safe bet, unless your name happens to be Oprah), you can pick up this lower-priced version by Mike & Chris. All the details (snazzy wide collar, waist-cinching belt and fold-over button cuffs) are there. In fact, the only thing that’s really missing is the price—this trench is only $198! Take a look at the slideshow for some of our favorites, then check out Karmaloop for the lookbook and full collection!
I have to admit, there are a few pieces that Juicy Couture comes out with each season that I do find cute and worth having, but overall, the Juicy style is not for me. It’s especially not for me when I do pick up that one dress that I actually find attractive and have a minor heart attack from the ridiculous price tag attached to the simple, knit garment in my hands. Juicy Couture tracksuits were and still are, one of their most popular and best selling items, but again, I cannot feel good about handing over that sum of money just to buy something to lounge around in. While Juicy Couture still has a group of loyal followers, the majority of us have seen enough overly-tanned, bright bottle-blonde girls in head-to-toe Juicy to last a lifetime. But even though I find it irritating to see grown women decked out in full-on, blinged out, in your face Juicy Couture, tiny tots happen to look absolutely precious in the pint-sized version. Something about the contrasting prints, comfy knits and clashing colors just looks adorable and trendy on the six and under set. We’ve spotted a number of darling celebrity tots proudly showing off their Juicy Couture outfits so take the poll below and help us decide which kid looked the cutest!
Brr.... ‘tis the season for cozy boots and coats. And… shorts too- if you layer them with tights (or just happen to live somewhere that doesn’t happen to have a high of 50 degrees). But back to the coats- from cozy puffer styles to a short sleeved Loeffler Randall number, there are plenty of ways to stay warm this season. Need some holiday style ideas? You’ll want to check out StyleBakery’s video post, which follows their team as they hit up Century 21 in NYC! You remember what it’s like to be a teen, whether it really was only yesterday or it just seems like it. Bored, moody, rebellious, mad at the world—especially mad at your parents. Okay, just kidding about most of that description, but really—when you’re no longer in high school, it can be hard to relate to those who still are, which makes it really tough to pick out a thoughtful gift they’ll actually enjoy. Despite what you may hear in the news, not every teenager is obsessed with “Twilight,” so your search isn’t always as easy as stopping by your neighborhood Hot Topic. So what is “all the rage” these days? First of all, not saying “all the rage,” and secondly, it’s about tapping into a general interest. If you know the teen at hand loves music, this portable USB turntable plugs directly into their laptop so they can start testing their skills as resident DJ. Or if you’ve got a future “Project Runway” contestant in the fam, gift a fashion designer start-up kit to get their creative juices flowing. Take a look at the slideshow for the selection of fool-proof gifts for teens!
There are some people out there who love monogramming their name and initials on pretty much everything. Although I do not feel the urge to engrave my name onto all that I own, I have to admit that it does have its appeal. Whatever the reason, personalized gifts are just that—personal. What was just a “good” gift becomes a great and thoughtful gift with the addition of just a few letters and maybe a short but sweet message. There are a lot of products that now offer the personalization option so stray away from monogrammed lockets and towels that have been done time and time again and find something different! Click on the slideshow to see which items out there can be made that much better by a simple engraving or embroidery!
If I had to have a least favorite form of shopping, holiday shopping would be it. Don’t get me wrong- I love finding the perfect gifts for my friends and family- but the process is downright exhausting whether you brave the malls or swipe your credit cards the virtual way. Setting a price limit is the best way to start narrowing down who’s getting what, and furthermore, the best gifts happen to be the ones whose prices aren’t quite so obvious, so you might want to skip the typical mall stores (unless you know exactly what your recipients want, of course!). I’ve compiled a list of 10 stylish gifts as precious as they are practical, like a limited edition Tsumori Chisato lip gloss set or a set of super sweet enamel bangles from Dylan’s Candy Bar. Or what about a luxe neckwarmer from Madewell? They’re all under $50, so you can still stay within your budget without feeling like you’ve skimped. Click the slideshow to see my picks, and happy shopping!
The term lingerie comes from the Old French linge, which referred to scandalous underclothes. Though the term was not in widespread use until the 1850s, the history of lingerie itself started centuries earlier, back in ancient Egypt around 3000 BC. And while the choice for men may center around something as simple as boxers or briefs, we women have so much more to consider: peignoirs, chemises, nighties, camisoles, slips, crinolines and teddies—both racy and demure. Now we gals know that buying luxurious lingerie is not necessarily practical, but we also know that this form of self-indulgence can have a subconscious impact on the way we look and feel—even if no one gets to witness our underpinnings. So choose one of these beauties from past decades and bring on some sweet dreams. Just click the slideshow to see the selection.

We all know how benefiting it can be for a young designer (a la Jason Wu) when their creations get spotted on First Lady Michelle Obama. They can go from “Who are you?” to “We have Oprah on line 1 for you” with a snap of a picture. Seems when Mrs. Obama wore a beautiful gown designed by Indian-American designer Naeem Khan last week for the first State dinner at the White House, everyone started wondering who he is, how long he’s been around, and where they can get their hands on a creation. Naeem Khan is no rookie to the fashion game, having presented his first collection in 2005 at Olympus Fashion Week. Since then, he has been on a roll, garnering an impressive following in many of today’s top models, singers, actresses and most recently the First Lady. And let’s not forget designing all the costumes for the 2006 movie Dreamgirls. Since his induction into red carpet prime fashion royalty, he has teamed up with HSN to present his TIMELESS by Naeem Khan collection so regular folk like me and you can get dibs on his creations. As the weather gets colder and colder and I have to wear more layers than an onion has, that means I also have to switch over from iced tea to hot chocolate! I have a giant Audrey Hepburn/Breakfast at Tiffany’s themed mug that fills me up every time, but sometimes I just need a smaller sized cup so I don’t drink my weight in chocolate. That’s why Finnish designer Sami Rinne totally read my mind and made the Reindeer Mugs which are cute and functional! These ceramic mugs are handmade in Finland and they’re microwave, oven and dishwasher safe. Best of all, I’m totally set for the holidays with his reindeer handle design. I’m going to bet that my peppermint hot chocolate will taste even better than ever! If you’re not into the reindeer, check out the angel and the bat mugs too.
Price: 24.90 GBP

Are the employees at Starbucks beginning to memorize your order? Do you have under eye circles resembling black eyes? Might someone mistake you for a caveman if they happened to graze your leg? Same here. And it’s not pretty. My fashion sense is screaming to get out, as I’ve locked it away for a couple weeks and invested instead in a couple new pairs of Pink sweats. And let’s not even start on my hair. When it gets washed, it definitely doesn’t get brushed, and in the morning I end up looking like Chewbacca and Medusa’s offspring. This is something a straightener can’t even begin to fix. Which is why right now I am totally loving Anthropologie’s Twinkle Headband. Slip this badboy on and it will instantly transform my rat’s nest bun into a chic updo. What I love most is its antique look; the muted gold tones and metallic beaded accents give a sultry Grecian feel to even the simplest jeans and t-shirt combo. Yea it’s a little pricey at $38, but let’s be honest, a $5 headband from Claire’s doesn’t come with the booty-call saving abilities. Check back with CollegeCandy for more style-saving tips for finals season!
