Stylehive was at the MODO flagship store opening in New York’s mega-trendy Nolita neighborhood where they unveiled New York City’s new home for super-stylish eyewear. An exclusive event attended by big, big names like designer Phillip Lim and socialite Olivia Palermo, this petite boutique was packed elbow to elbow with champagne, fashionistas, and of course, amazingly-designed high-fashion frames. Afterward, MODO hosted a dinner at Peasant on Elizabeth Street so all could fete their big achievement. 

So what can you expect to find in this little gem of a store? Only frames from the hottest names in fashion! Look for 3.1 Phillip Lim, Fabien Baron, Derek Lam and of course, MODO. If you can’t make it to the store, then check out their website, which makes it so easy to shop and find retailers who carry their lines. I fell head-over-heels in love with their sunglasses and I knew I had to get some MODO into the hands of my readers. So, since MODO loves Stylehive, they happily gave up a pair of their glamorous ‘Camilla’ frames in black and white to give away!

Elton John-- for being endlessly innovative, wacky and fearless in his sunglass choices.  No matter how “shady” (haha, sorry for the pun) some of his selections may have been, he gets respect for sunglass innovation!

No question...I love how hip Mary Kate Olsen looks in her shades lately.  She’s shown in the mags changing them so frequently I think she’d a modern-day shade superstar! 

gotta have them..my old ones have seen better days, and i just turned 60, very cool artist, and i would look even cooler!!! i need them so badly!!!!!!

My shades superstar would have to be Nicole Richie. The first (in a very long time) to defy the standards of shades’ sizes, she went ahead and proved to the world that women can hide in huge shades and still look like they’re in control. Makes me feel inspired to have the guts to wear the shades, and rock the world!

Favorite sunglass wearer.... 1980’s Don Johnson in Miami Vice ... couldn’t beat the sunglasses every week or the great suits and shoes ... (you can see Miami Vice on cable : ) ) He still looks cool in 2008!a

tom Cruise in Top Gun.. he made raybans a must have!

Jack Nicholson with his night-time shades is the coolest! I find it amazing how good he looks every year at the Oscar’s.

A few people can get away with wearing shades in the evening without looking silly. On him, it looks awesome!

Though some may ridicule me for my choice’s said ‘indecent’ conduct of behaviour, it’s no doubt that Paris Hilton has elevated big, beautiful, and bodacious sunglasses to the level of royalty. Taking Jackie O’s signature and making it a worldwide phenom, Paris Hilton is undoubtedly and indescribably my favorite sunglass superstar of all time !!!
