To combat the overwhelmingly dark and somber tone that marked the fall/winter ’08 collections, a lot of our favorite designers added unexpected, playful elements to spruce up their collections. I mean, where’s the fun in fashion without a few risks and surprises? Some designers threw shades of shimmery gold into the mix for added glitz and glamor, others played with plush purples and other rich jewel tones, most went wild with accessories, and a few took risks by playing with pops of brightly colored legs, by far the most fun and funky way to add a much needed spark.

Black opaque tights enjoyed a long and successful reign on top, but now it’s time to brighten up your stocking-drawer with candy-colored ones!

From pairing bold tights with bold ensembles; to show-stopping red tights; to tights as the main attraction when paired with mini dresses, as well as tights as a side show, peeping out from over the knee frocks; to a splash of colored legs to liven up a black-tie dress; to orange tights with black for a Halloween-chic look; to mixing blue tights with black ensembles, proving this color pairing has emerged triumphantly from its former fashion faux-pas status- this season, be not afraid to get your gams NOTICED with bright, bold tights.
