How to Get Super Sexy Runway Looks With Stila!

Just because fashion week is over doesn't mean we can't still talk about it and try to re-create the sexy new makeup styles we fell in love with. Runway shows are so much more than just the clothing. Every aspect, from the hair, to the makeup, to the nail polish color is carefully considered and serve to enhance the underlying theme or message of the latest collection. It's pretty amazing to consider that something as small as makeup palette could change the entire tone and vibe of a collection.

Tyson Beckford Spills on Supermodel Bad Behavior!

I'm not gonna lie, when I bumped into Tyson Beckford on day one of New York Fashion Week, I was pretty offended that he had no recollection of our first interview! After receiving a harsh guilt-trip by lil Breebee, Tyson, who like myself was a constant fixture in the tents, was sure to never make that mistake again. And don't be jealous girls, but we actually kind of became friends, and I learned quite a bit about this hunky former model. He always wears sharp suits, he's really upset about the Britney Spears situation and wishes everyone would just "leave the girl alone' (flashback - Tyson appeared as the hunky motorcycle driver in Brit's video for Toxic), he's got something going on with model Chanel Iman (not really sure what's going on there but every time she comes down the runway he trips her up by clapping and cheering, forcing her to laugh and break the signature model stone-faced stare), being kicked out of the Zac Posen show was the most embarrassing moment of his life (Zac had a no-celeb policy which Tyson was unaware of, he told me "I've been kicked out of many places before, but NEVER a fashion show), and not only is he easy on the eyes, but he's really down to earth and easy to talk to as well.

How to Get the Jenni Kayne Bed-Head Chic Look

Inspired by the 90's grunge scene as well as classic styles and silhouettes from the 30's and 40's, the Jenni Kane fall/winter '08 collection incorperated raw sex appeal, dark moodiness, and touches of old Hollywood glamor. Hairstylist Oscar Blandi reflected the organic, edgy, urban feel of the collection with a range of perfectly undone coifs from loose tousled locks, to messy side buns, to haphazard braids. Styling products (all from the Oscar Blandi line available on Beauty.com) were used sparingly to keep the looks as organic and natural-looking as possible. Read on for the complete list of all the products used, and check out our video clip for backstage highlights.

NYFW Runway Report: Cynthia Steffe's Fantastic Reality

The Cynthia Steffe fall/winter '08 collection was sophisticated and polished with a fun, whimsical, eccentric flare. Titled "Supernature" this collection drew upon the capricious, versatile and unexpected aspects of the natural world. From seasonless fabrics that were both textured and lightweight, to the earth-inspired color palette comprised of desert neutrals, grassy hues, and rich jewel tones. There were also a variety of cuts- jackets were sculpted and narrow as well as inflated and voluminous, dresses ranged from soft and flowy to structured and architectural, pant-shapes could be super-slim and cigarette shaped or loose and slouchy.

Stylehive Scorecard
Color Palette: Red, Neutral, Lapis, Navy, Emerald, Metallic Silver, Black
Cuts/Styles: Slouchy Trousers, Structures Suits, Flowy Silk Chiffon Dresses and Blouses, Houndstooth, Cigarette Pants, Pencil Skirts, Pops of Color, Graphic Prints, Elongated Silhouettes, Cinched Waists

NYFW Runway Report: Verrier Gives Imperial Russia a Sexy Twist

Designer Ashleigh Verrier was inspired by imperial Russia for the Verrier fall/winter '08 collection, aptly titled Titled "Fabergé Bohemian," which incorporated the opulence of this period with the simplicity of the peasant lifestyle. Staying true to the signature ultra-femme pieces, heavy on the lace and frills, slightly edgy, Verrier style, this collection was both whimsical and restrained, drawing from an array of disparate elements and bringing them together seamlessly.

NYFW Runway Report: Erica Davies' Gypsy Glam Rocker Chic!

The Development by Erica Davies fall/winter '08 collection did not stringently follow one theme - instead, designer Erica Davies allowed her multiple sources of inspiration to blend and overlap-resulting in an AMAZING collection that can best be described as "laid-back Bohemian babe meets street-wise tough-chick and encounters a mysterious girl from a foreign country.' Erica was inspired by Marlene Dietrich in the 1947 film, Golden Earrings where she played a Hungarian Gypsy named Lydia, and drew upon ethnic and gypsy inspirations which she updated and reconfigured to create urban motifs. Rather than letting the sources of inspiration override her unique vision, Erica kept the the Bohemian and ethnic references restrained and subdued - a few floaty chiffon numbers, some ikat prints, touches of fringe here and there- for an innovative, culturally-conscious collection that did not compromise contemporary sensibility.

Lipstick Jungle's Star and Stylist Spill to Stylehive!

After narrowly missing her at a bunch of New York Fashion Week shows, I finally caught up with the beautiful Lindsay Price after the Project Runway finale show, and I got a two for one deal because the star was accompanied by the show's costume designer, Dan Lawson! Lindsay plays fashion designer Victory on the new hit series (her character is said to be based on Cynthia Rowley), but Lindsay tells me she wasn't much of a fashion-maven prior to being cast in the role. In fact, this season's Peter Som show marked the loss of her fashion-week virginity. Read on to see for Lindsay and Dan's looking-great secrets!
