What Will You Be Wearing On New Year's Eve?

I love New Year's Eve because it's a great way to wrap up the holidays with a bang. These days, there are lots of options for the night, whether it's going to an ultra-glam black tie event, partying with friends in a ski lodge, or staying home to watch the ball drop on tv. So we want to know what you'll be wearing when the clock ticks midnight tonight! Will you be drinking champagne while wearing a little gold sequin dress? Or will you be keeping it low key with friends and family with a layered jumper? Maybe keeping it really low key at home with a comfortable nightie and cozy blanket?

Totally Silly And Competely Appropriate New Year's Eve Party Accessories!

One of the best parts of celebrating the arrival of the new year is going to a festive party where everyone is dressed to the nines but wearing the silliest accessories. I've seen girls wearing furry bikinis with the year stamped on the you-know-where and light-up tiaras. While I was freezing just looking at them, it was hard to ignore how much fun they were having (and the attention they were getting)! So for this New Year's Eve, it's ok to go all out and get silly with your family and friends. Make sure every photo has at least one pair of glowing sunglasses or furry pimp hat! For more accessories only appropriate for New Year's Eve, see the SLIDESHOW.

Casual, Low-Key NYE Party Looks!

New Year's Eve is quickly approaching, and it looks like a lot of the party planning is actually party outfit planning- dress, heels, jewels, clutch, the whole deal! But since I'll be spending New Year's with a bunch of friends in a cabin in the snow, I'm going to leave the sparkly Betsey Johnson dress at home and slip into something a little more low-key. I'm thinking cozy-chic knits, slouchy boots, and just a bit of added glam- you get the idea! AKA New York's cashmere sweater dress is perfect for those parties where you're never sure how much to dress up- the silver lame skirt is a festive, no-fuss touch. If your plans call for not much more than a tee and jeans, add a vintage-inspired belt or a glitzy headband to jazz things up! Click the slideshow for easy outfit ideas and tips for a low-key, high style New Year's celebration.

Look Chic in Menswear for New Year's Eve!

Sick and tired of wearing the same little black dress on New Year's Eve? While it's typically a night for sequins and sparkles, you don't have to go to road most traveled. Set a resolution not to be dressed like everyone else and try something new! By 'new' I mean some sexy menswear that is sure to catch the eye of your special someone when the clock strikes midnight. Start with some black trouser or tuxedo pants, even buy them a size too big to get a cool slouchy look, a la Olsen twin. Top it off with a girly take on a menswear shirt, like this killer steal from J.Crew. Instead of a blazer or tuxedo jacket, try this season's must-have: an oversized vest- my pick is a long white silk one from Josh Goot. To keep the look sexy, sky high heels are a must. Finish the look off with a shiny patent clutch bag and a big bauble ring for some sparkle...it is New Year's Eve after all! Check out the slideshow to get all the pieces for this killer look.

Holiday Entertaining Tips From Home Designer Kim Seybert

Between Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's Eve, the holidays are packed with reasons to have a party. Stressed about what your going to do and how your going to get it done? Kim Seybert, entertaining expert and designer of chic tableware accessories is here to help. She gave me the scoop on her top 5 holiday entertaining tips to share with the Hive!

Make sure you enjoy your own dinner party. For Thanksgiving or Christmas this means hiring some help or enlisting a family member or two to help with the set up. Make sure to prepare as much of your menu in advance as well setting your table the night before. You don't want to be stuck in the kitchen instead of spending time with your guests. Since there is usually so much food on the table for the Thanksgiving or Christmas meal, keep your centerpieces (flowers, candles, etc) simple. Want to get more expert tips from Kim?
