All you cutting edge fashionistas who pride yourself on being up on the latest trends take heed: peep-toe oxfords are gonna be EVERYWHERE come Spring.

These quirky numbers made a debut during various spring fashion shows, and given the fact that the regular Oxfords are currently reigning supreme, something tells me we are going to have a case of "invasion of the peep-toe oxfords' in a few months. They're already starting to trickle in from some of the fashion powerhouses, including Fendi , Givenchy, and Derek Lam, a roster which I am sure will continue to grow as each month passes.

How to wear: These shoes are major attention grabbers, so before slipping them on, dress with caution. On the runway we saw this style paired with anything, from classic, elegant, ladylike ensembles- an unconventional pairing that mysteriously works- to outrageously funky ensembles.

I say try and keep your look simple when going with these shoes. It's really a matter of taste and preference though, and hey, if you can pull it off, then pull away!

Shoe of the Week: Glory Chen's 'Lance' Pump

It's beginning to seem as if shoe trends have come to a standstill, if only because we're all happy with our platform peep-toes and patent mary-janes. Maybe that's because the new emerging trend is to not be trendy.

Funny how that works.

Up-and-coming designers these days are abandoning what's "in" and adopting what's right, focusing on principles that embody what they're passionate about: design, architecture, and structural creativity. The result? A shoe that is art and expression rather than wearable conformity. One of these labels is Glory Chen, led by Joy Chen, who studied graphic design here in San Francisco at the Academy of Art University before transitioning into shoe design.

Her "Lance" shoe is part pointy toe flat, part kitten heel, part d'orsay pump, and all 100% nappa leather perfection. The red and white fabric loops on the heel and top area add a dainty touch, and the small heel is ideal for those times when you wish your favorite flats would somehow sprout the perfect little heel.
