I arrived at the
Met Promenade a bit early for
Hanii Y's Spring/Summer 2009 showcase, and was immediately struck by its bright white walls, digital art, and dreamy music. Once I entered and took in the production of the ever so fittingly titled "Sleepwalking Park," the aura in the room shifted, the crowd settled, and everything seemed to move in slow motion. Models stood amidst the sculptural pillars, draped in Hanii Y's signature vintage-meets modern styles. Structured skirts paired with draped tees, sheer summerweight sweaters in vibrant greens and yellows, and carefully draped toppers were met with patent belts, white oxfords, and chunky patent platform heels. Classic khaki trenches framed hot pink and orange chiffon dresses, proof that the
neon-neutral trend will be sticking around for awhile. The occasional leather jacket and exposed zipper stood out as well, adding some of-the-moment edge to the characteristically feminine line. Click on the slideshow to see my snapshots from the presentation, and
