Look Chic in Menswear for New Year's Eve!

Sick and tired of wearing the same little black dress on New Year's Eve? While it's typically a night for sequins and sparkles, you don't have to go to road most traveled. Set a resolution not to be dressed like everyone else and try something new! By 'new' I mean some sexy menswear that is sure to catch the eye of your special someone when the clock strikes midnight. Start with some black trouser or tuxedo pants, even buy them a size too big to get a cool slouchy look, a la Olsen twin. Top it off with a girly take on a menswear shirt, like this killer steal from J.Crew. Instead of a blazer or tuxedo jacket, try this season's must-have: an oversized vest- my pick is a long white silk one from Josh Goot. To keep the look sexy, sky high heels are a must. Finish the look off with a shiny patent clutch bag and a big bauble ring for some sparkle...it is New Year's Eve after all! Check out the slideshow to get all the pieces for this killer look.

Silky Little Things For Your Lingerie Drawer...

When it comes to lingerie, there's often a choice between the looks of a piece and its comfort. Fabrics like cotton and bamboo feel great on the skin, but many times lack the sexy look of items made from synthetic fabrics. One the other hand, synthetics can often feel scratchy and uncomfortable. One exception to this general idea is silk. It's a natural fiber that is both soft to the touch and great looking. The downside to silk is that it's one of the most expensive fabrics out there. So, you might have to save your cash for just one special piece. Check out the slideshow for a sampling.

LA Fashion Week: Nonja McKenzie's Flirty-Femme Spring Collection

Local LA stylist turned designer Nonja McKenzie shined at Mercedes-Benz LA Fashion Week with her shimmering Spring '09 collection of beaded shifts, satin tops, and silk jumpsuits. Lame and chiffon butterfly-sleeve tops fluttered down the runway, followed by an array of sixties and seventies inspired dresses in soft fabrics and buttery colors. A plethora of flattering wrap dresses with flirtatious ties swinging to and fro brought a certain girlish charm to the collection, while leopard print and silk halter jumpsuits added the necessary sex appeal. Nonja revamped long-sleeved minidresses and body-conscious asymmetrical dresses with ruching down the sides of sleeves and skirts, but her beadwork stole the show with beaded shifts, billowing tops, and my personal favorite--a black and silver beaded eyelash minidress! Check out our favorite looks from Nonja McKenzie's Spring 2009 Collection in the slideshow!

Fancy Panties, Because It's What's Underneath That Counts

Every chic outfit must have sexy stylish underpinnings as well. One of the hottest trends right now in intimates is fancy panties ... the more bells and whistles, the better. Some of these elaborate details include sexy side ties, flirty ruffles, peek-a-boo skirts, embroidered appliques, delicate bows and luxurious laces. There's no need to reserve these fancy panties for dates with that special someone, wear them to the office or while running errands to add a sexy boost to your day. Don't worry, it can be your little secret. For a preview of this season's pretty little things, check out the SLIDESHOW!

Vintage Style: If The Gloves Fit, Wear 'Em!

Gloves are one of this season's must-have fall accessories. They appeared on just about every fall runway and it's not about utility--even if it doesn't get cold enough to throw a snowball where you live, chances are you'll see women wearing gloves in a few months! This year, besides the standard leather, velvet, or suede, we've seen lace, cotton, silk and sheer gloves plus bright colors, beading, feathers, and fur. It's a glove bonanza! Plus, since gloves take up hardly any room, you can amass a huge collection quickly. And vintage versions abound! Just click the SLIDESHOW for the selection.

Hive 5: My Favorite Starry Styles From YOUR Stylehives!

So you want to add a bit of brightness to your look, but you're not so sure you can pull off the intensity of yellow and orange. I get that. That's why I'm all over the star trend that's slowly making its way into stores, but luckily it's not completely played out, which only means one thing - I want it all! Lagerfeld liberally sprinkled stars all over the Chanel Spring 08 runways, and while I can't exactly wrap my head around a star-print jumpsuit à la Kate Moss, I could easily wrap myself in the scarf version- it's whimsical, still unexpected, and perfect for all year round. Which is good because I don't think I'd ever take it off. If I got my hands on one, that is. Anyway, check out my slideshow for five starstruck styles!
