StyleVid: Zac Posen's Couture Runway Finale

Zac Posen's runway finale at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week may have been the highlight of the Spring 2008 collections. Taking inspiration from the paintings of Andrew Wyeth, the 1978 film Days of Heaven and American settlers, Posen's finale feature hand-painted and dyed gowns that brought to mind the cloudswept skies of the Great Plains.

With names like Cumulus and Cyclone, the gowns represent a gathering storm in the world of fashion.

Check back Friday for the slideshow of the whole show!

StyleVid: Tyra Banks Sets Up a Runway in a Bus Station!

Leave it to a former supermodel to bring Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week out from behind the velvet ropes. Tyra Banks shot an episode of her talk show (which just moved its home base to New York City from Los Angeles) at a bustling bus station during rush hour. The featured guest? Designer Tracy Reese and her Spring 2008 line! Tyra told Stylehive she's stoked to be back in New York, especially during fashion week. "It brings back so many memories!" said the former catwalk queen. "These models are all out their busting their butts!"

StylehiveTV: The Shoes They Wore to the Shows

The best shows at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week aren't always on the runways. The fashionistas crowding the catwalks, obsessed with one-upping each other from their clothes to their kicks, are often even more entertaining and inspiring.

Here's a short video of some of the coolest shoes (pumps, wedges, flats, spikes - you name it) we've seen the past week at parties, events, and the tents.

StylehiveTV: Blondie Sings 'Heart of Glass' at Hilfiger Bash

Tommy Hilfiger threw an amazing book party at the Musuem of Modern Art last night to help kick off Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week and announce his new tome, Iconic America; A Roller-Coaster Ride Through the Eye-Popping Panorama of American Pop Culture. (That's a long title, Tommy!)

Jeremy Piven, Cuba Gooding, Jr., Rocco DiSpirito, Gabe Saporta of Cobra Starship, and Ian Astbury of The Cult were just some of the glitteratti and rockeratti in attendance, but the biggest star of the night was Debbie Harry, who entertained the shiny crowd with some new songs from her upcoming album, Necessary Evil, and some old songs from the good old days when she fronted the best new wave band ever, Blondie.

StyleVid: San Francisco Fashion Week - The 615 Project

A hectic San Francisco Fashion Week wrapped last Saturday, and Stylehive was front and center for the finale. Jeanne Feldkamp, creator of The 615 Project, filled her runway with modern, elegant clothing by blending athletic silhouettes with old-world luxury.

This is for the Peace Corp meets Park Avenue kind of woman (are you listening Angelina?), who's jet setting around the world in fabrics that you can throw in a suitcase but take out and look sexy and comfortable.

On the runway, we saw buttery suedes jackets, flirty day dresses, and evening dresses in super sexy sinuous silk jersey.

StyleVid: San Francisco Fashion Week - Onerary

A hectic San Francisco Fashion Week wrapped last Saturday, and Stylehive was front and center for the finale. There was so much great style that we've decided to run StyleVids all week featuring each designer that presented during Saturday's runway show. Today's San Francisco style star is Onerary.

Danielle DeRoberts and Katy Parnello created the fiery streetwear line for men and women. A background in theater and painting brings an artistic and dramatic edge to their collections as well as the runway. Kicking it off with a spoken word performance and ending with an adorable child dragging a "heavy heart" along the way, we saw very urban pieces, deconstructed and detachable hoodies, vibrant hot pants, unfinished and distressed hemlines, patchwork, and strings and ribbons galore.
