Editor’s Pick: I Found My Colorful Low Heel Sandals At Last!

I’m fiercely on the hunt for summer wardrobe items and trust me when I say, it has been ridiculously hard to find the perfect colorful low heel. I’ve scoured high and low, everywhere offline and online in pursuit but to no true avail. The gorgeous teal Miu Miu strappy flat wedges on way sale at Barneys this past weekend couldn’t be had and now the fervor is only worse. It had me going on full blast this morning hitting every possible shoe-carrying website and alas, found a pair to love, plus four other that are totally divine. Here’s a SLIDESHOW of the goodies.

Your Style: Taking Magazine Looks Into the Everyday

It’s one thing to read magazines, and another to take what’s in them and make it wearable for the street. The outfits in Vogue and People might look slick and sophisticated on paper, but getting in and out of a car or or trying to head to class in them is a whole other story. Luckily there are a few hipsters out there who know how to take an editorial look and bring it down to street level. That’s what stopped me in my tracks when I first saw Stylediarist Missinterpret. Ten great looks that could be right out of Lucky, with everyday wearability. Here’s a SLIDESHOW of my favorites!

Street Style Steal: Get This NY Fashionista’s Easy-Peasy Look!

Fashion people know that there are certain cities where locals just breathe style, the type of places that other fashionistas flock to in hopes that it might rub off on them (or at least land them the perfect find). New York is one of these kind of places, where even the little kids dress cool and next year’s trends whisk by left and right.  It’s where we spotted today’s Perfect Stranger, who takes five of the most basic things and whips up a snacky style combination. Not only does it look super cool, but it’s also very easy to do! Check out my SLIDESHOW to see how to make it happen.

Perfect Stranger: Knock Off This Chic L.A. Chick’s Outfit!

I have such a crush on this outfit. Maybe it’s the cool, casual but still-sort-of party-ready feel of it, or the fact that it works in such a simple color combination. It could be the cool Geren Ford tank, or the way she worked it with a black tank under and a vintage belt. It’s the kind of chic, laid back-cool kind of look that’s cropping up everywhere around Los Angeles at the moment. Whatever. I love it, and I’ve hunted down the items so we can all create it at home! Here’s a SLIDESHOW of the five pieces to get the job done!

Street Trend: Trouser Pants Are Back!

After what appeared to be eons of lounge pants and jeans, fashion has finally thrown us a stylish bone with by bringing hipster back to trouser pants, and like the super chic, super cool cats they are, Stylediarists are all over it. From Canada to France to England and the good old US of A, they’re pairing them with everything, like pretty tops and crisp, clean basics. The best part is that trousers are a fashion item that never really goes out of style, making it the perfect spring update you can love for years. Get out, get a pair and then check out my SLIDESHOW of ten ways to wear them!

Like any other true, red-blooded fashionista, I shop anywhere. High end, low end, designer, inexpensive, trendy, classic, basic, elaborate. There are no boundaries to where I’ll go because sometimes, the most unexpected places have the very best pieces. It means that I regularly duck into dozens of stores and scout online shops, all in the name of finding that one amazing thing that redefines my closet. My latest stop? J Crew at the fabulous Grove mall in Los Angeles. Here’s a SLIDESHOW of my five favorite pieces!

10 Throwback Outfits From a Fashion Forward Fashionista

I don’t blame women for fighting off the days of having to spend hours getting into a dress, but the proliferation of casual in fashion means the mere glimpse of something glam just somehow feels rare and decadent, like you’re in another city having the best chocolate mousse, that you know you’ll never taste again. That’s the reaction you’ll have when you set sight on Stylediarist Lolitahaze’s look book. It’s retro, it’s glamorous, a throwback to the days when style was a little more demanding. Here’s a SLIDESHOW of my 10 favorite outfits!

Who She Is: Lolitahaze
Her Look: Retro glam
Why It’s Cool: Unique!

Some People Are Just Born With Good Style

While plenty of Stylediarists turn heads with their uber-cool style and hip fashion picks, there’s one who you can’t possibly avoid gushing over no matter what she’s wearing. Her style can be best described as creative and cute, be it a fabulous dress or simple leggings, and she’s never afraid to mix prints or try the unexpected. One minute you find her taking cues from the runway and pairing floral prints with stripes, the next she’s working a great color combination like teal and brown. Animal prints are another favorite, along with timeless stores like Old Navy and Gap. She’s been a top Stylediarist for nearly all of her life. Here’s a SLIDESHOW of my 10 favorite Jessieruth’s looks!

Who She Is: Jessieruth
Her Look: Fun, funky, stylish
Why It’s Cool: She was born a fashionista!

Dressing Room Diary: Trying On Hot Tops at Bloomies!

Please accept my apologies. I have been going on and on with test driving dresses for weeks on end and almost forgot that that tops are also red hot this season. So yesterday at Bloomingdales I focused. I stayed strong and forced myself to only audition tops, five of them, in spring’s hottest styles. I only broke the ban to include a pair of Hudson jeans, but that was just because I had on a print skirt that wouldn’t match with any of it. Here’s a SLIDESHOW to satisfy the upper half.

Polish Stylediarist Masters On-The-Go Chic

Everyone wishes she was a jet-setter. Angelina Jolie in a flowing, blowing dress on the tarmac as she heads to yet another faraway destination, Kate Moss dressed to the nines heading out on the town in London. Heck, most people would settle for being Kim Kardashian in a Juicy lounge set heading to New York from LAX. We love the style setters that not just make the world go around, but go around right along with it. Polish Stylediarist Sema totally captures the look. Ten great on the go outfits, right on your computer!

Dressing Room Diary: 5 Favorite Frocks From Shoprobertson.com

L.A.’s Robertson Blvd. is the place where fameball celebs like Nicole Richie, Paris Hilton, and Ashlee Simpson score their style. Head there any day of the week and you’ll see paparazzi lingering, the notorious Ivy restaurant, and countless locals and tourists as they browse boutiques that are almost famous all on their own. Jealous? You don’t need to be. Shoprobertson.com captures the brands and pieces straight off the street and dishes it up for fashionistas everywhere. I visited the company’s So Cal warehouse to test drive the goods. Here’s a SLIDESHOW of my five favorites.

This UK Stylediarist Says She’s Addicted to Fashion. I Believe It!

Stylediarist Yuyinchien is my kind of fashionista. Just one stop at her look book and you immediately know this girl is addicted to fashion. She has the kind of closet that makes editors use terms like “drool-worthy” and an eye for pieces that stop other stylistas in the street. I especially like her pretty blue floral dress, her amazing tan coat, and all of her fabulous footwear. Check out my SLIDESHOW of her best looks.

Dressing Room Diary: 5 Killer Old Navy Finds

If you’ve had the same kind of love/hate relationship with Old Navy that most fashionistas seem to have, you might want to get ready to sway back toward the L-word. A few months ago, the retail giant announced it was going to try to go chic, bringing in new designers and new ideas. Fast forward to the present and all of the sudden it’s a pretty good place for low-cost, season perfect items that’ll carry you well past spring into the hot days of summer. Prints, tube tops, short shorts and dozens of dresses. I’m not trying to put it out there like this, but I’ve been there twice and barely left empty handed. Here’s a SLIDESHOW of my five favorite finds.

Lights, Camera, Fashion! Romanian Stylediarist Rivals Wintour

It takes some serious talent to transform an everyday world into a cool, fashion editorial quality photo spread. First, there’s lighting, and of course, you need a stylist, makeup artist, somebody handling the hair, and more than likely at least one assistant. There are dozens of shots taken, different poses, retouches to the entire process and let’s not forget a break for lunch with craft services. Yet, somehow there are Stylediarists who nail all of this from the 200x400 window and the backdrop of their bedroom, living room or closet, and deliver up almost-Vogue ready stylish looks.  Here are 10 favorites from Romanian Stylediarist Miss-jly’s lookbook. Lights, camera, fashion!

Her Look: Chic and fun.

Perfect Strangers: Hollywood Hipsters’ “Rolled Out of Bed” Lunchtime Look

Lunch in LA is like a disheveled runway show. Hipsters swaddled in slick, I-didn’t-mean-to-look-cool outfits roll about the city’s hot spots snacking on turkey and brie sandwiches and ginormous fruit salads. Little dogs lounge (or bark excessively) from underneath chairs at outdoor patios while the occasional paparazzi swarm rolls in. When the sun is high, it’s all about big sunglasses, flat footwear and the vibe that the local population has just rolled out of bed. Today’s SLIDESHOW features five such decadent Hollywood lunchtime looks!

Street Trend: Everyone’s Wearing Hot Tops This Spring!

When it comes to trends and clothes, must haves and what not, that everything moves along the same steady cycle. Every year, it’s something fresh and exciting! Just as you get a little less enthusiastic about one trend you’re working, another brand new one rolls in. For Stylediarists this month, it’s all about the red-hot spring top trend. Floaty, flirty, funky, you name it. Here are 10 looks that work it!

German Stylediarist Shows How One Item Can Make a Look

If there’s one thing Stylediarist Chandeen understands it’s the power of the number one. Oh, people say it’s the loneliest number, but don’t be fooled by that coy ploy. The single digit knows exactly what’s going on. Think about it. There’s only one president, one king, one queen, one love, and so on. We envision those who fly solo as being strong, and let’s not forget a single engine plane or car can take an entire group around the world. It’s a power this slick Stylediarist fully gets. She throws just one piece into her outfits and kapow! Instant fashion status. Here are ten looks that show you how one can make fashion fun.

Dressing Room Diary: Trying On Outfits at EM & Co. on Third Street

Los Angeles is known for its trendy, hipster boutiques and shops. Fashion and Music Man O’Neal McKnight Spills To Stylehive

You probably know O’Neal McKnight because you have rocked out to his song “Check Your Coat” at the club or have seen the video on VH1 or MTV.  What you probably didn’t know is when you look at Diddy, Russell Simmons, or Usher and say, “Damn, that man has style,” it’s likely because O’Neal McKnight made them so. Wardrobe stylist for so many events, videos, and mega-stars that I don’t have enough space to list them, O’Neal has now transformed himself into the ultimate hybrid of music and fashion.  Stepping out into the limelight, he told me what it’s like to live in within the community of superstardom.  Oh, and by the way, the kid can dance.  Really, really dance.  Click READ MORE to hear about his many moves, and click SEE VIDEO to see them for yourself!

Street Trend: 10 Spring Jackets To Take the Nip Out

It might seem super sunny and blissfully warm in Los Angeles when you’re looking at it from The Hills or pages of People Magazine, but trust me, it gets plenty cold at night here. Kind of the way it does in the desert and that has been known to practically kill people. Being one who has endured sub-zero winters for a large part of my life, I know this doesn’t hold a candle to what some parts of the globe are enduring at the moment, but I am a firm believer that we can all appreciate an amazing coat to brighten up the dead of winter. Stylediarists totally get this. Here are ten great coats from look books. I want every last one of them!

10 Fabulous Dresses From One Amazing Closet! (How’d She Do That?)

What girl doesn’t love a closet full of dresses? Chinese Stylediarist Takes Boutique Fashion Global

Fashion people, it’s time to pay your respects. All of you, sitting at your computers, you need to pause and take a moment to thank the internet for what it has done for style at global proportions.  Youngster fashionistas may never recall the days of bleak shopping prospects, where everybody was forced to dress by way of what was at the mall, or go naked. That was how it was, people. And we suffered for it. Two words: Chino pants. Ah but now, thanks to Al Gore (or whoever invented “online”), style setters everywhere can have great skill and taste AND get access to whatever hipster stuff they love, anytime, anywhere. Stylediarist Yelloworange is our tribute to the change!

Hot Street Trend: Print Dresses

Porridge’s designer has said she takes a cue from vintage fabrics. Virginia Johnson’s prints have been known to be inspired by what she sees in nature. Diane Von Furstenberg, perhaps the queen of all prints, obviously had something going on in the 60s and 70s, because her creations from the era (which she now brings back every season) are some kind of funky and fun. The current season is stocked full of styles from wrap dresses to baby dolls to long frocks and mini cuts. Colors, shapes, stars, checks – there is no end to the bevy of options. I Am Flying to Croatia and Stealing Everything in This Stylediarist’s Closet!

I don’t know where you Stylediarists get it, but you are some fashionable people. Let’s just start with all of your outfits. They’re cool, creative, trendy, classic, and everything in between, with tons of mad style through and through. Skirt looks, great dress combinations. I won’t lie. I scout look books all the time and work people’s ideas, too! If that’s not enough, you’ve all got these amazing pieces, the kind of stuff that makes editors use words like “uber-chic” and “drool-worthy,” and that’s not even counting the huge lot of you that have killer blogs on top of it, too.  Shoes, handbags, jackets, coats, jeans. I want what you’ve all got, plus two. This is the exact feeling I get with Croatian diarist Natasa. Closet raid, please. And, hurry!

10 Ways Dutch Stylediarist Makes Comfortable Cool Again!

There is a reason why we all love comfortable clothes. It all starts out innocently enough, of course. Our parents swaddle us in blankets, onesies and footy pajamas, all in the softest of cottons. This continues onward to rompers and track suits, then comfortable jeans and sweatshirts. You get the picture. Durable, easy to wear and keep clean, it’s no wonder we as adults can’t get enough of it. It’s why we love companies like Juicy Couture and James Perse, and still live in our old college sweatshirt. The problem is, it can be difficult to make cozy basics look chic. Stylediarist –Primavera- shows how to do it!

Stylediarist Channels Rocker Girl Classics

Old school rocker girls like Joan Jett and Blondie were just so cool. They wore ripped up t-shirts and smeared makeup and just rocked out, kicking over speakers and breaking guitars while singing about love being a battlefield and loving rock and roll. There was no bubble gum pink or lip syncing. These girls were true bad assess who jammed in leather pants and tore up t-shirts and toured around with their equally cool bands. Stevie Knicks, Pat Benetar, the girls from Heart. They’re iconic. This isn’t your Hilary Duff or Avril Lavigne, people, but girls that played as tough as the boys of their era and had the style to prove it. That’s the inspiration behind Capri Stylediarist Pinkgamegirl’s look book. She’s also a hair stylist, too!

Chinese Stylediarist Keeps Fashion Cool and Easy

It’s so hard not to think you’ve got to have everything when it comes to fashion. I mean, you get the killer shoe and suddenly, you want the bag. Get the bag, you want the dress. Get the dress, you want the amazing necklace… it can go on and on. I know it. Millions of dollars are spent every year more or less making style complicated. But, then there are those little flecks of glorious light who turn the tables and remind us all that you can be uber-fashionista with a simple one-two punch of talent and great pieces. And, no, that doesn’t mean fussy stuff. Just a t-shirt will do the trick. Believe me on this. Better yet, check out Stylediarist Hipprincess’ look book instead.

French Stylediarist’s Tres Belle Daytime Chic

We’ve discussed the French and fashion before, how they’re, like, the world’s style muse and that everybody talks about it. Like one big giant country-size Kate Moss, the land is home of fashion mavens of all kinds.  Always so cool and so creative – yet, unassuming and effortless as if everybody was just born with the innate skill to find incredible items and then wear them better than anybody else on the planet. Daytime outfits work around a key statement piece or two, nighttime is always chic and glamorous. Stylediarist Ballibulle’s look book is a great study of the art of it.

Who She Is: Ballibulle
Her Look: Parisian chic
Why It’s Cool: Easy daytime looks!
