Hit show, hot husband, and handbags- Katherine Heigl’s got a lot to be happy about these days, and even though I think she’s a bit nutso as Izzie on Grey’s Anatomy, her arm candy collection is quite the opposite. Chanel, Jimmy Choo, and Valentino are favorites, but lately it’s her Kooba ‘Natasha’ tote and True Religion ‘Leyla’ day bag that have been making the rounds. See, you don’t have to be a doctor to be able to afford designer handbags galore...all you have to do is pretend to be one on TV. Click on over to BagTrends.com for more on the stylish star’s handbag stash.
Out of all the stars that showed up at the Time for Hero’s carnival, Lauren Conrad, who wore a breezy Foley+Corinna halter dress, thong sandals, and metallic Valentino bag, ranked high on my list of fashion favorites. This look, as with most LC ensembles, is accessible, minimal, and versatile enough to play around with to get a look that suits your personal style, hence, we gotta do some style stealing! Check out my SLIDESHOW to get LC’s sweet summer style.
Sweetly sexy is the style of the day, as chiffon and silk meet their match in gladiator heels and patent accessories. Looks like the two most similar trends, stripes and color block, have finally reached an agreement-- check out the looks from doo.ri and Nanette Lepore and you’ll agree too. And don’t miss the pretty Prada platforms-- they’re the sweetest way to put a little spring in your step! If you have not yet fallen for the dazzling array of vivid clothing, shoes, bags, belts and sunglasses that are deleriously prevalent this season, the color purple may be what final drags you in. Not the movie, girls… the color! In all of it’s seductive mysteriousness, moodiness and glamorous flair. There is a perfect purple for each and every one of you, and this purple belongs however you dare to apply it– whether in a dreamy wash of color, a romantic smoky smudge, or a bold streak– on your eyelids.
Shades of purple, violet and aubergine reigned supreme on the runways at Thakoon, Behnaz Sarafpour, Bottega Veneta, Christian LaCroix, and Valentino- the most dramatic look (and one of my favorites) being the stark ultraviolet halos worn by blue-eyed model Siri Tollerød, at Behnaz Sarafpour. Sephora.com features a similar look as part of their homage to brightly colored makeup this season. According to Jerrod Blandino, celebrity makeup artist and creator of Too Faced Cosmetics, “Purple shadows make blue eyes look bluer, green eyes look more brilliant, and brown eyes look lighter. This season’s purples sizzle with iridescent pigments that add a sexy and futuristic metallic edge.”
Here comes the sun… finally! You know what else we’re ecstatic about? The return of COLOR. And it’s not just on our clothes! Check out the vibrant swivel chair that you can’t help but fall into, and a pretty little box that you’ll be happy to use to stash away all of your other pretty little things. You’ll also find draped dresses in super sweet shades from Valentino and Adam by Adam Lippes, and let’s not forget the yellow mini from spring favorite Tory Burch, a trend we know we’ll be seeing everywhere in the coming months! They’re all in our slideshow of today’s top ten hive finds, where we’ll tell you how much they cost and where you can buy them online.

Fashion insiders have been saying it for years, but now we have verifiable proof that the standards for sizing are all over the place, so much so that a woman can go up or down two sizes in the time it takes to walk from one side of the store to the next. So what gives? Read on to see Tim Gunn’s take and the results of the Daily news’ investigation of the matter. Plus stories on Cate Blanchett’s skincare line, Valentino’s successor, and why European duds may take a hit in the U.S.

Impeccable tailoring, graceful silhouettes, red-carpet worthy gowns, 900 guests comprised of royalty, celebrities, socialites and everyone whose anyone- Valentino’s final couture collection definitely lived up to the hype and was the perfect way to bow out after a massively successful career which lasted 45 years. While the tears flowed freely, the fashion legend tried his best to make this a joyful occasion, saying “I am not sad. This is my Valentino souvenir to everyone. I have had a wonderful life in fashion, rich in so many memories.” Plus stories on The Satorialist, tStella McCartney, Hayden Panettiere and more.

What’s black, white, and red all over? Friday’s top ten finds, of course! They’re haute stuff, from Valentino to Donna Karan, and that’s no joking matter. Also look out for the Lanvin top that proves high fashion knows how to have fun, the up-and-coming Pencey New York label whose ENTIRE spring collection is my dream wardrobe realized (how many collections can you say that about?), and home decor that can only be described as wacky. With the cancellation of the Golden Globes last Sunday, fashionistas around the world missed their red carpet fix of Hollywood glitz and glamor. No breathtaking gowns. No fashion faux-pas. Not even one “Who are you wearing tonight?” from Ryan Seacrest! So with the fate of the Oscars still up in the air, and anyone’s guess which actresses will show for the SAG Awards this weekend, today’s slideshow hopes to satisfy your need for award season fashion with my nominations for the most stunning vintage evening wear not seen on the red carpet. And the nominees are…
The day everyone in the fashion industry is both dreading and anxiously anticipating is almost upon us. On January 23rd, the legendary Valentino will showcase his final collection ever as part of the Haute Couture show in Paris. After a magnificent 45 year run, Valentino announced he wanted to “stop at the height of my glory” (a decision very reminiscent of Seinfeld’s sudden decision to bow out while still on top, no?).

Some things are just better left in 2007, so that tote that you can fit your life into just isn’t going to cut it as your handbag of choice for the party of the year. That said, there are quite a few clutches that are very well worth hanging onto, but by the look of the ten super chic clutches we’re about to show you in our slideshow, picking just one isn’t going to be easy. Our solution: more parties means more party accessories, so clear your schedule and let those clutches come out to play!
Exploitation, mistreatment, sexual abuse, inhumane hours, accepted drug use, and immense pressure to maintain a pre-pubescent figure. According to a story in today’s Guardian, the seemingly charmed life of a fashion model can be downright ugly, so much so that two prominent models are speaking out and fighting for the right to join Equity, the actors’ union. Plus, stories on Joel Madden, a survival guide for all your last minute holiday shoppers, bidding adieu to Valentino, and everything you want to know about this year in fashion, from the ‘Label we Loved,’ to the ‘Most Overpraised,’ to the ‘Most Unwearable Trend.’
